Das Leibniz-Institut für Alternsforschung - Fritz-Lipmann-Institut e.V. (FLI) in Jena ist eine von Bund und dem Bundesland Thüringen gemeinsam finanzierte Forschungseinrichtung in der Wissenschaftsgemeinschaft Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz e.V. Die international beachteten, hochkompetitiven Forschungsaktivitäten des FLI sind auf die biomedizinischen Ursachen des Alterns ausgerichtet. Wissenschaftler/innen aus über 40 Ländern erforschen die molekularen Grundlagen des Alterns und der Entstehung von alternsassoziierten Erkrankungen. Die Core Facility Flow Cytometry (Durchflusszytometrie) ist eine Serviceeinheit für die Wissenschaftler und Doktoranden des FLI und besteht aus Geräten, mit denen Zellsuspensionen anhand verschiedener Marker auf das Vorkommen von Zellsubpopulationen analysiert und diese auch heraussortiert werden können (FACS = fluorescence activated cell sorting). Technischer Mitarbeiter Durchflusszytometrie (m/w/d)

Ihre Aufgaben:

Bedienung der FACSAria III, FACSAria Fusion und FACS Melody Sorter und der Analysegeräte FACSCanto II, FACS Verse und LSR Fortessa
Unterweisung von Nutzern in der fachgerechten Bedienung der Durchflusszytometer
Kontrolle und Bestellung des Verbrauchsmaterials der Facility
Pflege und Wartung der Facility-Geräte
Dokumentation und Datensicherung

Ihr Profil:

Studium Biologie, Biotechnologie oder ähnlich oder
BTA / MTA Ausbildung
Erfahrung in der Durchflusszytometrie wünschenswert
Kenntnisse im Umgang mit der Software FACS Diva und FlowJo von Vorteil
Erfahrung in der Dokumentation und Auswertung von Daten, sowie selbstständiges Arbeiten erwünscht
Sehr gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse

The Leibniz Institute on Aging - Fritz Lipmann Institute (FLI) in Jena is a federal and state government-funded research institute and member of the Leibniz Association (Wissenschaftsgemeinschaft Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz e.V.). FLI’ s internationally visible and highly competitive research is focused on understanding the mechanisms of aging and associated age-related diseases. Scientists from over 40 countries are currently investigating the molecular mechanisms of aging and the occurrence of age-related diseases. Technician Flow Cytometry (m/f/d)

Tasks:

Operation of the FACSAria III, FACSAria Fusion and FACS Melody sorter as well as the analytical instruments FACSCanto II, FACS Verse, LSR Fortessa
Training of users regarding the professional operation of the FACS analysis devices
Monitoring and purchasing of consumables for the facility
Maintenance and service of the facility’s equipment
Documentation and data backup

Requirements:

Study of biology, biotechnology or similar or BTA / MTA training
Experience in Flow Cytometry desirable
Knowledge of using the FACS Diva and FlowJo software is an advantage
Experience in the documentation and evaluation of data, as well as self independent work desired
Very good knowledge of German and English
