The Leibniz Institute on Aging - Fritz Lipmann Institute (FLI) in Jena is a federal and state government-funded research institute and member of the Leibniz Association (Leibniz-Gemeinschaft). FLI’ s internationally visible and highly competitive research is focused on understanding the mechanisms of aging and associated age-related diseases. Scientists from over 40 countries are currently investigating the molecular mechanisms of aging and the occurrence of age-related diseases. Our aim is to create the basis for new approaches in medicine as a way to improve the health of the elderly (www.leibniz-fli.de).
The new research group “Microbiome and Metabolism” led by Dr. Clara Correia-Melo at the Leibniz Institute on Aging – Fritz Lipmann Institute is looking for an enthusiastic Postdoctoral Scientist:
Tasks and Challenges:We are looking for a highly motivated Postdoctoral scientist that is enthusiastic to explore the metabolic crosstalk of aging cells and their interactions with the microbiome.
The successful applicant will work on cutting-edge research projects using a wide range of techniques, including high-throughput robotics and metabolomics, and will work with mammalian and microbial cell models. The postdoctoral scientist will contribute to shape the research group and develop independence by leading his/her own projects, contribute to other projects on a collaborative basis (both in the lab and with external collaborators) and guide Master and/or PhD students in their research. The Postdoc will also have the opportunity to participate in grant application writing and preparation of manuscripts. |
