Schwerpunkt I: Transfer moderner bioinformatischer Methoden hin zur praktischen Anwendung in der Analyse experimenteller Daten

• Beispielmethoden: Formalisierung von Klassifikationsaufgaben oder Zeitreihenanalyse, Quantifizierung von Spleißvarianten, Praxisanwendung spezialisierter statistischer Verfahren
  
• Ergänzung bioinformatischer Analysestrecken durch Komponenten zur Qualitätskontrolle und statistischer Bewertung
  
  

Schwerpunkt II: Bioinformatische Analyse-Dienstleistung experimenteller Daten

• Die Analysearbeit dient als Inspirationsquelle für Schwerpunkt I und veranschaulicht die organisatorische Abwicklung der Dienstleistungen
  

• Dienstleistungen betreffen beispielsweise Expressionsanalyse (RNA-seq und Protein-MS), funktionelles Enrichment, Sequenzvariantenanalyse, multifaktorielle Modellierung und Effektanalyse
  

Ihr Profil:

• Abgeschlossene naturwissenschaftliche Promotion mit Arbeitsschwerpunkt in Angewandter Bioinformatik
  
  
• Erfahrung mit bioinformatischen Methoden und Werkzeugen auf den Omics-Gebieten; fundierte Kennntisse in statistischer Methodik
  
  
• Erfahrung und Interesse in Konzeption, Programmierung und Realisierung von bioinformatischen Anwendungen
  
  
• vorteilhaft sind Kenntnisse in diversen Programmier-sprachen; in Datenbankprogrammierung (SQL) und/oder Integration externer Datenressourcen (Webprotokolle, XML)
  
  
• sehr gute Sprachkenntnisse in Deutsch oder Englisch; kommunikative Kompetenz
  
  
• wünschenswert ist Erfahrung mit wissenschaftlichen Kooperationen oder im Projektmanagement, bestenfalls Erfahrung in einem serviceorientierten Arbeitskontext
  
  
  

Tasks:

Focus I. Transfer of modern bioinformatics methods into practical applications for the analysis of experimental data

• Method examples: formalization of classification tasks or time series analysis, quantification of splicing variants, practical application of specialized statistical methods
  
• Extension of bioinformatics analysis pipelines with components of quality control and statistical evaluation
  

Focus II. Bioinformatics analysis service on experimental data

• The analysis tasks should serve as an inspiration source for focus I and illustrate the organizational flow of service processes
  
• Typical analysis tasks cover expression analysis (RNA-seq and protein MS), functional enrichment, sequence variant analysis, multifactorial modeling and effect analysis

Your profile:

• PhD with a working focus in Applied Bioinformatics
  
  
• Experience with bioinformatics methods and tools in the omics fields; solid skills in statistical methods
  
  
• Experience and interest in conception, programming and optimization of bioinformatics applications
  
  
• Advantageous: knowledge in various programming languages; skills in database programming (SQL) and/or integration of ext. data resources (web protocols, XML)
  
  
• Very good language proficiency in German or English; communication competency
  
  
• Desirable: experience in scientific cooperation projects or project management, at the best experience in a service-oriented working context
